Investigación realizada durante una residencia en Yellow Brick, Atenas, en la que se explora cómo el maternaje enriquece e informa la práctica artística, desafiando las percepciones convencionales de la maternidad y celebrando su complejidad y diversidad.
Durante la estancia, ajusto los horarios de taller a las siestas de mi hija, y la falta de sueño junto con la sensación de tiempo fragmentado influyen en mi proceso creativo.
Empleo gasas de algodón como material principal para documentar los primeros seis meses de vida como madre. La gasa vela, esconde y recubre una herida hasta sanar. Cada pieza de gasa se convierte en un espacio limitado para plasmar ideas y pensamientos, mientras permite llevar un registro del tiempo fragmentado dedicado a la creación.

This research, conducted during a residency at Yellow Brick, Athens, explores how motherhood enriches and informs artistic practice, challenging conventional perceptions of motherhood and celebrating its complexity and diversity.
During the residency, I adjust my workshop schedules to my daughter’s naps, and the lack of sleep along with the sense of fragmented time influences my creative process.
I use cotton gauze as the main material to document the first six months of life as a mother. The gauze veils, hides and covers a wound until it heals. Each piece of gauze becomes a limited space to capture ideas and thoughts, as well as a record of the fragmented time spent creating.
